CHENNAI:
ONGC, Cauvery Basin, has provided RO water systems to ten government schools in Ariyalur district in
Tamil Nadu, as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
A statement issued by ONGC on Thursday said the project had been inaugurated by ONGC basin manager T Rajendran at Government High School in Vanathirayan Pattinam near Jayankondam.
The company has spent Rs 8.86 lakh for the project, which has been implemented through CARD Trust.
Water systems have been installed in government schools in Udayarpalayam and Senthurai taluk.
The schools are: Panchayat Union Primary School, Moorthiyan; Panchayat Union Primary School, Kurichi; Panchayat Union Primary School, Utthirakudi; Panchayat Union Middle School, Thennavanallur; Panchayat Union Elementary School, Thuppapuram; Panchayat Union Primary School, Endal; Panchayat Union Middle School, Anaikudam; Panchayat Union Primary School, Silal; Government High School, Vanattiraiyanpattinam and Panchayat Union Primary School in Athaneri.
